Joel Marshall is an actor, comedian and host, and is currently known for his hit live streaming program Joel Marshall’s Lunch Therapy. , now in it’s fifth year. A stand-up comic and actor in Hollywood, The show show takes place every Tuesday and Friday at noon Pacific. There is always a very live chat room and many witty regulars and a cast of fun characters. The show is a constantly evolving hour of fun sketches, commercials, animals, science, and all the best actors, directors, activists, artist and comedians joining in for live interviews and performances. Now there is a library of over 600 shows currently available on the Joel Marshall’s Lunch Therapy YouTube Channel. All are aimed at helping you take a “break from the crap.”
Joel began his career at the famed Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago and went on to play Romeo at Shakespeare and Company in Massachusetts and has been seen in various stage, film and television roles.
He produced and hosted a podcast, called FatFreeFilm the Indie Film Podcast (https://FatFreeFilm.com), in the early days of podcasting, before people even knew what a podcast was. He interviewed such greats as Leonard Nimoy, Peter Bogdanovich and Patricia Arquette. He went on to produce the award-winning film Equal Means Equal (https://equalmeansequal.com), which was also directed by his wife actress Kamala Lopez. This film has done great things to inform people that women are not represented in the US Constitution, and has helped get the last three states needed to ratify the ERA. The film won the audience award at Michael Moore’s Traverse City Film Festival.
Joel is also known as the originator of the fad planking, and can been seen on the gameshow To Tell the Truth, extolling the virtues of this face planting activity originally called Face Dancing.
Joel hails from the Pacific Northwest and holds degrees in Theatre from the University of Washington and a Masters from CalArts. He currently trains in the masterclass of the world-renowned acting teacher Ivana Chubbuck.
Joel likes to keep an open mind to the possibilities and the ever-changing landscape of comedy and acting and find new ways to inject technology directly into people’s funny bones.
